Campor Ravensk, Jedi Knight.
37 BBY - 27 BBY
In the first part of his life, Campor Ravensk's acceptance into the Jedi Order on Coruscant and his training as a Youngling was the usual, by the book stuff. He was trained in basic Shii-Cho and even had specialized practice in the art of Makashi, but he preferred using both hands on the lightsaber and being less stylish with both his offense and defense, so as to avoid distraction. This attracted the attention of a Jedi Knight named Kleptar Brikto, a human born among a tribe of Force Sensitive hermits on the planet of Rori. Most children that were growing to be Jedi, at Campor's age of 10 at that time, preferred the stylish, show-offy form of Makashi rather than what appeared to be the early ripening of the basic style of Soresu.
The Battle of Naboo barely affected Campor, seeing as how he was only 5 at the time. However, he had felt a great disturbance, mostly during Qui-gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi's battle with the Sith Lord, Darth Maul. At the death of the Jedi Master, he nearly collapsed- This alerted some of the higher levels of Jedi that this child was very sensitive to the force... He'd have to learn how to dull this, or he'd most likely die should a great tragedy occur.
Back to his age of 10, the Knight Kleptar met with the Jedi Council about Campor, asking permission himself to become the child's mentor. After being asked the reason for this special interest, he noted not only that he was a Consular, and could help dull the boy's sensitivity to the Force enough to allow him to stay up-right through terrible times, but he had also noticed that the boy preferred a more basic, controllable style such as Soresu to the more 'out-there' style of Makashi. It meant that he was maturing rapidly, and would be able to learn his lessons without much chance of struggle against his Master.
The Council granted this permission, and Kleptar Brikto became Campor Ravensk's Master.
Training
27 BBY - 22 BBY
During his time as a Padawan, Campor was taught, not only to dull his sensitivity to the Force and to use the Force's aid during only times of great need, but also the style of Soresu, and to filter out his emotions. His Master found a style of the Jedi Sentinel within his Padawan, but that would soon change. During sparring sessions, Campor would invent a new path to victory almost every time they battled. Once, he even went so far as to spin rapidly around his Master, leaping over and under his saber, before striking it down to the ground with an opening and placing his training saber at his Master's throat, grinning. According to the Padawan, "Master Yoda taught me that."
This made Kleptar grin himself- This boy could learn styles and the like simply by watching. The only style he had any trouble with was, yet again, Makashi- He simply couldn't get the hang of wielding the saber with one hand, no matter which one he used. Brikto didn't push it- He knew enough of the other styles, basic Shii-Cho included, to hold his own in a battle, should it come to this.
Due to this being after the Battle of Naboo, Brikto and Ravensk had been training each other, surprisingly, to battle a lightsaber head-on quite often, as well as to deflect and battle against blasters. The arrival of a Sith Lord was enough to scare Kleptar, which meant it was enough to scare Campor. They often felt the same sort of emotions, due to their time together. Even halfway across the galaxy, as would happen during their time in the Clone Wars, they would almost certainly at least feel the other's feelings.
The Battle of Geonosis
Bringing them to the actual Clone Wars- Brikto was one of the Knights sent to Geonosis during the rescue mission. Campor had been told to stay on the Republic Transport that had been on the Star Destroyer overhead of the planet.
As soon as the battle started, the Clones were ordered to move in. Ravensk spotted Master Yoda boarding a Republic Shuttle and asked the Jedi Master if he could go with him.
"Hm... Your Master, you are concerned of, hm?" the green being asked, a slight smile in the corner of his mouth.
"Yes Master," Campor replied, bowing his head, "I can't allow him to get hurt."
"An inkling of greed, attachment is. Let it go, you must."
"Please, Master... The less death that is caused here, the better."
Yoda lowered his head, his smile gone and his brow wrinkled. "Worried that YOURS may be here, both I and your Master are. Stay on the Star Destroyer, you may, but if inclined to join the battle you are..." Yoda moved to the side, his small stick pointing to the closest handle not held by a Clone, "Then aboard, you may come."
The battle of Geonosis was as fierce as had been told in stories long afterward- As the Republic Shuttle entered the arena, blaster shots and lasers firing everywhere, being deflected by lightsabers as they came too close, and some of the blades winking out of existence as a shot hit its mark, Campor felt the Force's sadness crash over him. Even after his dulling of his feeling of the Force, he still felt weak in the legs.
"Hm?" a voice came from his side, that of Yoda, "Are you alright?"
"Yes, Master," he said, straightening himself after he was confident he wouldn't collapse entirely, "Yes, I'm alright."
Then, Campor felt pain- And it wasn't his own, or the Force's. It was that of his Master. As soon as the shuttle was close enough to the ground, the Padawan leaped down, his blue saber igniting as he cut a droid in half. His adept style of Soresu allowed him to block a large amount of blaster bolts coming his way, and most of them deflected back at the mechanical monstrosities, but he was also partly distracted- He was looking for the face of Brikto.
He could still feel pain, which had two effects on him- It did upset him, but it also gave him confidence, because it meant that his Master was still alive.
Eventually, the young learner found his master, against a pillar that had held a mighty Acklay not long before. Seeing the two Jedi, a fellow Consular of Kleptar's arrived, healing the Knight's blaster wound to the arm. As the sense of pain in Campor's mind relieved itself, he pulled his master onto his back, and picked his saber up. He waved the blue light high in the air, calling into his comlink for a pick up.
A Clone shuttle bore down on them, covering the two as they got into it. As they left, the Consular that had most likely saved Kleptar's life was gunned down by a Destroyer Droid.
As his Master came back to full consciousness at the Command Post on Geonosis, Campor became elated. He was going to be alright, he could feel it.
The battle had continued as has been told, the Master taking control of a squad of Clone Troopers to take down one of the droid factories, and the Padawan taking an ARC-170 fighter squadron with him to take down an airborne control sphere. The sphere and factory blew at almost the same time.
The Results
After Geonosis and the information that Count Dooku, the Sith Lord responsible for all of this and said to be the Master of the two Sith available at one time, the pair went up in their ranks.
Kleptar, due to his bravery from the very beginning of the battle to destroying the main producer of droids on the planet, ascended to the rank of Jedi Master. Campor Ravensk, having saved the life of his Master and destroying the control sphere, as well as participating in the battle in the arena, was given the rank of Jedi Knight.
Due to the losses at Geonosis, the pair had to split up with their own battalion of troops each. They said goodbye to each other on the platforms holding their respective Star Destroyers and Jedi Starfighter, grinning at each other, knowing they would, of course, see each other again.
This much was true... But how they saw each other again would be something that would scar Campor for life.
Secrets Revealed, Friends Lost
20 BBY - 19 BBY
Having been in many battles by this time, both with his Clones and alone on specially assigned missions, Campor Ravensk had almost mastered his use of Soresu. However, what knowledge he had of Makashi, if any, was now pretty much gone. He despised the art, believing it to mainly be used by overconfident Jedi and fallen followers of the Dark.
During one of his rare times at the Temple on Coruscant, he found a Holocron hidden amongst some junk being shipped out. He was amazed that someone could throw away such a thing- This Jedi information could not be junked! He brought this to Master Yoda, telling him where he found it.
Yoda replied after a minute- In his time as a Knight, Yoda had begun to respect the young man, not only for his experience at Geonosis, but the amount of control he had and his remarkable intelligence, not only as a General and Starfighter pilot, but also as a Jedi, and this led him to be more criticizing of the Knight, so he may stay on this path. Campor realized this, and had thanked Yoda for being so honest, which upped the alien Jedi's respect of the man even more.
"Disturbing, it is, that knowledge would be discarded so easily, but why become so angry at it, have you? Have you never seen this happen before, hm? Mistakes?"
"Master, I am not angry," Campor replied, bowing his head in respect, "I just don't understand why somebody would throw this away. I can not read a single thing on it- It requires the access code of a Master- which I why I brought it here. Perhaps you could read it, to discover why someone would think they have a reason."
Yoda nodded, taking the Holocron. "I will, if to satisfy my own curiosity, the only reason is. Come back tomorrow, you may."
The day afterward, Yoda looked tired, almost sad. Campor knew, without even a clear memory, that it had to be the Holocron. "Master Yoda?"
The green being nodded his head sagely, his eyes remaining closed while he sat in a meditative stance. "Come in."
The Knight sat down, and Yoda opened his eyes. "Disturbing, the information on the Holocron was. Even more disturbing that it was thrown away, it is. The Force, I believe, led you to it."
Campor nodded- He had thought this may be the reason. He had no idea why he had been driven to search the junk pile, mostly out of blind curiosity.
And he wasn't often curious what was in the trash.
"So... What did it say, Master?"
Yoda's eyes took on a sad tone, and he sighed. "Torture, it would be for you. Tell you, I can not. Only show you."
Ravensk raised an eyebrow. What was going on? Yoda was one of the strongest Jedi, both mentally and physically, that Campor knew. The small stick he used to walk was mostly for when he didn't allow the Force to flow through and around him for battle or meditation. What kind of information would disturb the small being in such a way?
Then, without warning, Campor felt a surge of rage, a need for vengeance... Though, he had no idea what he was supposed to be avenging. Yoda felt this, and turned toward him.
The Jedi Knight, seated across from the Jedi Master, had one yellow eye. A trademark of someone fallen to the dark. And the old Jedi knew that Campor wasn't the one that had fallen, mostly through his sense of the Force...
...But also, from the Holocron that had just started playing on the hologram projector.
As the emerald-colored lightsaber came down, decapitating the Aqualish being, Jedi Master Kleptar Brikto gasped for air. The whole room was shown in the projector, a control room of sorts, most likely on the planet of Ithor, where Kleptar had been sent with his squad of Clone Troopers to investigate a disturbance not unlike the one that the hero Anakin Skywalker had been said to rid the galaxy of- A dark disturbance in the force.
The saber he wielded shut off and he placed it on his belt. He looked about thirty years older than his former Padawan remembered. Behind the Master, a cloaked figure stood, a blade of crimson emitting from the hilt of an ornate lightsaber. Campor was sure that he would attack the Jedi Master, and from Yoda's features, the Master would most likely die. He didn't want to see that.
He didn't have to.
The red saber lowered, the hooded figure moving to the now kneeling Jedi Master. "Well done. You have released your anger, let your need for vengeance flow through you. You knew these beings were killing Ithorians, and it was all you could do to stop them. Remember that- Remember that the dark side of the Force aided you in this."
That's when Ravensk realized the rest of the corpses, besides the one that was beheaded- Most of them had broken backs or necks from being pushed into metal... And some were scorched. Lightning scorched.
"You have become a Dark Jedi now, Brikto. Rise."
As the hologram shut off, Yoda turned toward Campor.
He was unconscious.
The Hunt
Jedi Knight Campor Ravensk, known for his defense of Geonosis and the battle of Felucia's main starfighter General before Aayla Secura's take over of the operation, was about to enter the room that held his former Master.
For the past year, he had been tracking the Dark Jedi Kleptar Brikto from Ithor to the planet of Endor, far outside normal space, and now to the Federation Flagship known as the Wandering Star.
He had accepted that this man had turned soon after the hologram shown by Master Yoda. Soon afterward, he left Coruscant for several reasons. One, to hunt down and destroy this new Dark Jedi. And two, to avoid the politics. Chancellor Palpatine was beyond simply abusing his power- He seemed to be trying to take over the Senate entirely. Campor had even heard disturbing rumors that he was trying to control the Jedi Council.
However, he refocused his thoughts upon the task at hand. A Dark Jedi, wanted for murdering a whole squad of Clone Troopers, and for killing a group of Ithorians attempting to bring peace to their home town.
That was a far cry from the excuses he fed himself on Ithor, Campor thought.
He allowed the Force to open the door for him, and he walked in, dropping his cloak to the ground on the walkway he stood on. Ahead of him, standing half in shadow, a human, if he could still be called that, approached him. The sense of darkness almost overwhelmed the Knight, but he used the training he had requested from Yoda to shut off his sense of the Force around his former friend.
The battle lasted for a while, only ending when Campor used one of his old tricks on his former Master, except instead of simply singeing his stomach a little, he was cut in half.
As he went to leave, he encountered a second dark being. His former Master's former Master.
This battle didn't last long in the slightest, nor did it go in Campor's favor. The being used one of his own tricks to slice the Knight's saber in half. He called upon his old friend's lightsaber, crimson blade smashing against crimson.
He was soon overpowered.
Fall to the Dark
In order to live, Campor joined the Dark Jedi Master, becoming his apprentice. He felt free, then, as he killed the squad of Clones that he had brought aboard.
He trained in the art of the double-bladed lightsaber, specializing in amazing speed and evasive maneuvers. He used his emotions to use the lightning he had so long associated with being evil. He had no idea how the Jedi could not do this- It felt so freeing.
Within a few months, he had become adept at the art of Ataru, mostly because he had learned the basics simply from watching Master Yoda, and this led to his ability to successfully wield a double-bladed saber.
However, he didn't as easily fall to the dark side as his new Master had thought- During an attack on Endor, a situation that Kleptar had left an unfinished to escape from Campor, Ravensk cut the hands of his 'Master' off, as well as destroying his lightsaber. He used his comlink to call in a group of Clones from his former Jedi days.
The squad arrived to find the Dark Jedi Master, lacking hands and a weapon, and a grinning Campor Ravensk. "Hey, boys. I brought you a gift."
"You killed a squad."
"I have given you a Dark Jedi Master, and killed his apprentice. They have killed hundreds of squads. I think this makes up for it."
The Purge
As Campor stepped off of the Republic shuttle, rain began spitting down. "Hm. How lovely."
As he entered the Temple, a few Jedi Knights turned to him. They had heard that he had fallen, but obviously, he was back.
That didn't mean they trusted him.
One Knight moved to the door behind him to cut off his escape, which would actually lead to letting him live, while the other two in the entrance hall brought their sabers to their hands discretely. "We would prefer if you'd stay here for now, Ravensk. The Council isn't here to make sure you're back. Only Shaak-Ti is here, and she's meditating."
This immediately alarmed Campor- Why was the whole Jedi Council not in the Temple? Wasn't that leaving the place a bit open?
He expressed these concerns, and the Knight on the right ignited a green lightsaber. "What are you hinting at?"
Just then, marching could be heard from outside. It was all in step, every step in tune. Clones. The Knight at the door turned, looking through the doorway. "There's a whole battalion out there! And... Yes, I think that's Skywalker! What's going on?"
The hero? Why was he leading--
Blaster bolts connected with the lookout Knight, sending him to the ground. Campor spun, summoning his old blue lightsaber to his hand, igniting it. The only Knight without his saber ignited his own, a yellow blade emitting from it.
Campor survived only because of his previous mastery of Soresu. And even then, when he saw the Sentinel with him engage in a very short lightsaber battle with Anakin Skywalker, he knew he wouldn't live long if he stayed in the Temple.
He began running, cutting down any clones that got in his way, or diverting their blaster bolts back at them. One managed to skim his leg, and he went tumbling into a trash chute.
He slid down, coming out below the Temple. No Clone Troopers in sight.
He made his way stealthily back up to the hangar, finding his Jedi Starfighter. Or, at least, as old as the day he went to the Wandering Star.
He escaped, barely avoiding getting shot down by ARC-170s and a Star Destroyer.
He landed on Tatooine, one of the only planets the Clone Wars had barely affected, making sure that the transponder code on his fighter was working. When he heard the code for 'Come home," he felt disgusted- How could they try and deceive people like that?! What had happened to the Repub--
The code changed to 'Run and hide.' This brought a grin to Campor's face, the last one for a long time while he still had his memories, and he knew the one Jedi who could have done that.
"Thank you, Yoda."
Memories Gone
Remembering the styles, the customs, the power of the Jedi was too dangerous now, Especially with this new 'Galactic Empire' he had been hearing about. He simply couldn't remember, or he'd be hunted too easily. He had to forget.
But it would be suspicious to just forget. He had to have memories... But not the ones he had now.
A wealthy man had been passing his starfighter at this time. He gasped, recognizing it as Jedi in design, and instantly beginning to run toward the city of Mos Eisley... He was going to be found out.
That, or he was about to figure out a plan. He caught up quickly, grabbing the man and quietly dragging him back to the starfighter. He focused his mind, combining them together in a form of telepathy. It was the first time he had ever done this, and would be the last. Their memories collided, switching, and reverting them to their bodies.
Suddenly, Campor Ravensk was simply a wealthy man who had been passing by, and seen a Jedi Starfighter and, being the good citizen he was, had tried to alert the closest authority figure around. The Jedi had then grabbed him from behind.
However, at some point, he must have overpowered the Jedi, and taken his clothes, equipment and weapons, while keeping him conscious and struggling.
He snapped the Jedi's neck, gasping. It was done. He had stopped that Jedi!
He used the Jedi's lightsaber to cut the power of the starfighter, and then alerted the incoming Shock Troopers of what had happened. When they aimed their guns at him, he assured them he was normal- They could get the Grand Emperor himself to check him out. Would a Jedi really deny their identity and destroy their own ship? What cowardly idiots!
He assured them he was simply a citizen of the New Empire, and they nodded. He did seem reasonable enough, and golly, he did seem scared. Jedi aren't scared.
They left their citizen friend, who seemed confused as to why they accepted this so willingly, taking the Jedi's corpse away.
The Rebel Alliance
18 BBY - Present (3 ABY)
His life went by easily enough- No struggle in this 'Galactic Civil War,' no interaction with either faction, no criminal activities...
...And no idea whatsoever why none of his friends and family recognized him.
Had he changed so much after the day he killed that Jedi? He honestly couldn't tell.
After the Stormtroopers took the place of Clone Troopers, the Senate was liquidated and the Empire took control of more star systems, Campor began getting nervous. This Emperor Palpatine was really abusing his power. He was a dictator, really, but still, SOME dictators can be nice.
However, when his homeworld was bombarded by an Imperial Star Destroyer (He couldn't remember the name of his planet before or after hearing it on the Holonet. He supposed that was just his bad memory.), he got in contact with the Rebel Alliance. They seemed to trust him right off, most likely due to them hearing of him before... Though he was SURE he hadn't been famous, really. A little rich, but who wasn't?
He had a knack for piloting, and joined the Rebel Navy. He flew lead for two missions before the Battle of Yavin, which he was restricted from battling in. After the loss report, he was thankful. They had lost nearly half the Rebel fleet in that one battle.
He became aware of his force sensitivity during a hunt for recourses out in the Dune Sea. His General, being killed by Tusken Raiders, had ordered him to fire at a Dragonet prior to his death. He did so, then seemed to slow down time to kill it with his knife.
Each of his blaster shots also seemed to hit the Tuskens directly.
He was ordered off-planet later, but during the space battle to get him out, his whole squadron died, and he was forced back to Tatooine in what appeared to be a ball of fire to some.
