Homeworld of Caerwynn Royce, Erfei has shunned contact with the rest of the galaxy for centuries, preferring to remain hidden. The planet was believed to have been terra-formed and was already habitable when the colonists arrived. Ruled by a democraticaly elected government with a Head of State that was also elected, by the Collegiate, it has never known the disruption caused by civil or military wars.
The planet was settled by a fleet escaping from Bunduki following an invasion that left the planet devastated in 7,300 BBY. The ceiling of the Collegiate Council Chamber is painted with a depiction of the night sky on the evening the colonists arrived. It is said that the stars never glowed as brightly again, except on the anniversary each year of the first colonists setting foot on the planet, the Day of Salvation.
The Collegiate is the training school for the Erifeian Order of Teräs Käsi Monks, run almost as a religious order, for what had become a ritualised form of the Teräs Käsi Arts. At the age of sixteen, students who show particular promise enter the Order for a life of celibacy, contemplation and further study.
