Background
The Flash Point was purchased by Kaje-James Reilloc shortly after he completed his tenth smuggling contract for a medium sized crime syndicate operating out of Kor Vela on Corellia. This tallied up to his fiftieth smuggling contract across the galaxy.
Kaje used his contacts to find a number of ships with private sellers and visited each one personally, he eventually settled on the only Nova Courier in the list. Whilst not being the prettiest of ships, the Courier had been heavily modified by it's previous owner. It sported a high power engine upgrade, increased shield capacity, a slight upgrade on the standard fit weapons systems and, most importantly, an on-board bar complete with a protocol droid barman.
Originally nameless when purchased, Kaje paid for the ship to be decorated with a blue 'flash' across the front and christened it the 'Flash Point' due to it being quick and deadly.
Early Service
Although he initially used the Flash Point to move goods, Kaje also used the ship for a while transporting sentient freight. After upgrading the weapons systems to a higher specification, he felt comfortable enough taking contracts smuggling high risk, and high profile, bounty targets to safer destinations. Due to the higher risk associated with this line of work, he could easily charge high 'ticket prices' and he found that those desperate enough were always willing to pay.
This proved to be a very lucrative business for Kaje and over time he phased out the transport of goods and kept the Flash Point exclusively for transporting the targets.
Shortly before Kaje-James Reilloc joined the Imperial Navy, Kaje put the Flash Point into long-term storage at the Mos Eisley starport on Tatooine, using a pseudonym to ensure his pride and joy was not sabotaged by any bounty hunters he had foiled along the way.
Recent Service
With Kaje defecting from the Empire and enlisting his services with the Rebel Alliance, the Flash Point has become useful as a Rebel ship. Kaje and other Rebellion operatives risked their lives to retrieve the Flash Point from storage in order to put it into their service, but it was worth the effort as it ensured safe passage for an assault team (which included Kaje) who were tasked with assaulting a sabotaged Corvette. The Flash Point escaped with some moderate damage to it's shield systems, but this has since been repaired. It has also had a transponder code rewrite, ensuring it's anonymity to Imperial scanners for a while longer.
