Osto Elran was a Bith Officer who was in charge of the Rebel Operations on Tatooine 2 ABY. Later he commanded a small Rebel Outpost on Yavin IV, where he was killed by his long-time rival Major Farlion Noilan.

History

Childhood

Osto Elran was born on the planet Clak'dor VII, 20 BBY. His parents were some of the best known musicians on the entire planet. At the age of 18, he was even better than his parents. Due to this skill, he attracted the attetion of Jabba the Hutt, who wanted him to play music in his palace. Osto agreed, seeing his chance of becoming famous. However, on his way to Tatooine his transport was captured by the Imperial Star Destroyer Stormhawk, who was searching for Rebels. Pleased about his find, the Captain of the Stormhawk sent all persons onboard the transport to Kessel. On the way to Kessel Osto was constantly beaten up by some anti alien guards onboard the transport. However, the transport should never reach Kessel, as it was captured, this time by Shuttles of the Rebel Alliance. After being freed by the Rebels, he gladly joined them to free the galaxy of the Empire.

Coordinating the Rebel Operations on Tatooine

Litte is known about Ostos life during 2 BBY- 2 ABY. One of the few things that is known, is that he was good enough to become a Major in the Rebel Army and commanding the Rebel Operations on Tatooine. 2 ABY, the Rebels found out that a transport carrieing secret plans of a operation in the Endor System was launching from Tatooine. Quickly, they orderd Osto to capture that transport. However, his forces didin't know about the Assault Gunboats guarding the transport. Dispite an brave battle, the Imperials were overwhelemd. During the battle however, the transport carrieing the plans crashed on Tatooine. Osto quickly orderd a battalion of Rebel Commandos to search for these plans. After sucessfully finding the plans, the Commander wanted to send the plans from an captured Imperial Base, but was killed by troops of the Imperial Cooperative, who were also searching for the plans. After losing the plans, a furious Osto Elran launched a surprise attack on Cuun Yalm, the capital of the Imperial Cooperative. At the beginning it worked perfectly. Most parts of the city were captured and almost all Imperials were killed. However, a group under the command of Captain Farlion Noilan managed to take out the Rebel landing zone, from where they sent a distress signal. Osto, convinced that the Imperials had no chance, didin't bother to attack the ImpCo Strike Force and kept his forces in Cuun Yalm. This should prove as a mistake, as Imperial reinforcements arrived and recaptured most of the City. Before he could order his forces to retreat, his Bunker was hit by a TIE-Bomber Strike which destroyed most parts of the Bunker.

Captured by the Sandpeople

After the destruction of his bunker, he was buried under pieces of debris only kept alive by his hate for the Empire and the wish of holding a blaster at Farlion Noilans head. 2 Days after the Siege of Cuun Yalm, the remnants of the bunker were savaged by Tuskens Raiders. They found Osto under the debris and took him with them to one of their camps, where he was tortued almost every day. His rescue would come one week after his capture, when the camp was under attack by local farmers who wanted to end the threat of the Sandpeople. Osto used this, to steal one of their speeders and escape to Mos Espa. After recovering there, he used a transport to return to the Rebel Alliance.

Final Campaign

"Today, we will crush the Imperials and revenge our brothers who died on Tatooine!"

Dispite his failure he was once again in command of Rebel Forces, this time on Yavin IV. There, he found a group of Jedi who were studieing some artifacts of the Sith Lord Exar Kun. After a brief conversation, they accepted to join the Rebel Alliance. However, they attempted to control Rebel Troopers with their Mind Tricks and Osto was forced to push them back into the wilderness of Yavin IV. After finding their camp, he orderd a attack but almost immediatley delayed that order as he noticed landing Imperial Troopers, under the command of Major Farlion Noilan. Happily he dispatched Rebel Troops to assault the Imperial Base and capture Farlion Noilan. It worked and the base was captured, but a small ImpCo Strike Force managed to retreat. Thinking the Imperial Forces had been crushed, he went back to plan a assault on the Jedi Camp. Before he could finish his plans though, his outpost was under attack by the escaped ImpCo strike force. With nowhere near enough forces to defend the Base, the Imperials managed to capture the base fairly quickly. Osto attempted to set the Base to selfdestruct, but before he could detonate he was stunned by Farlion Noilan.

Death

After being stunned by Farlion Noilan, he woke up in the command center of the base, tied at a chair. The first thing he saw was Imperials searching the database and Farlion right in front of him. After a short interrogation, in which Osto didin't say a word, Farlion asked if he was gonna tell him anything. After a brief "No" by Osto the Imperial answered "Thought so" and shot him.
